2023 Chinese Astrology Global Predictions

2023 Predictions in the Year of the Yin Water Rabbit . “Beware lest you lose the substance by grasping at the shadow.”

Key Take Away's for 2023 -

  1. Growth and expansion: Enthusiasm will run high in the Year of the Rabbit, and it will be easy to over extend or make decisions based on hopeium rather than logic.
  2. Spirituality will be stronger: Humanity has had a rough time in the past few years, and the Yin Water of 2023 will see many people reflecting on their approach to life.
  3. Self-discipline is the key to success: Rabbits bounce from one thing to another without thinking of tomorrow. Those who create a plan and stick to it will be the big winners in 2023.
  4. This is the final year of Period 8: The 8 star’s representation is the Mountain, and will finish its run in February 2024. The shape of a mountain can also represent hierarchy with one person at the top, so we can see that the time of mega corporations and billionaires is coming to an end.
  5. Expect more protests and crackdowns: As the prevailing “cream of society” try to maintain their hold over the masses. Media outlets will be biased towards supporting big money, so be careful of who you believe.
  6. Form a Network: of trusted friends that will have your back, there’s safety in numbers in the Year of the Rabbit.
  7. There will be an increase Earth disasters: Wood Element is very strong in 2023 and controls Earth Element, indicating earthquakes and volcano eruptions.
  8. Chinese Medicine considers the Kidneys and Bladder: to be Water Element. Since the Rabbit’s Wood Element drains Water, we can expect many people to have problems in these areas. Stay hydrated!
  9. Do something for the planet: The combination of Water and Wood, and the increased interest in spirituality and how we live as a species will begin to have a greater impact on environmental issues. It is a great time to join a a local group that actually makes a difference in your area.
  10. There will another invasion: Maybe involving more than one part of the world. Countries formed in Periods 2 or 5 that have a strict hierarchical system may look at starting a war with their neighbor’s to distract their populace from domestic internal problems.

2023 Yin Water Rabbit Predictions Almanac Article

The Rabbit brings us pure Wood Chi supported by Yin Water in 2023 indicating rapid growth and changes. From a Feng Shui perspective, this year also represents the end of Period 8 and a shift into an entirely new paradigm. Since Period 8 represents masculine energy and Period 9 the feminine, you can see that the growth represented by the Yin Water Rabbit needs to be rapid to catalyse the change.

Even though the flow of Elements between the Stem and Branch indicates fast change, examining the individual aspects of each component tells a different story. Gui Yin Water is the last of the 10 Heavenly Stems and is like a lake, a calm reflective surface but with hidden depths. It also represents the last part of Winter, where preparations are started for Spring but the ground isn’t ready for planting. The depths of Gui Water can also represent the psyche, religion and spirituality.

The first half of 2023 is a time for reflection and planning, no matter which aspect of life you choose to focus on.

The Hidden Stems within the Rabbit are Yi and Jia Wood. Whether Yin or Yang, Wood Chi expands outwards both towards the sky and into the Earth, so from an Elemental perspective, the Rabbit is the epitome of growth. Rabbits are also very social creatures, yet hold themselves back until they get to know the situation.

The latter half of 2023 does bring change, but it will be a complex mix of social agreement, self-interest, justice and at times greed. Unfettered Wood growth knows no bounds, so Zodiac Signs with self-discipline can control the path it follows to gain the greatest benefit.

There are people and groups that do not wish to see change, and will do what they think is right to hold onto the past. There are people and groups that want change immediately, and will do what they think is right to create the future. Do your best to avoid holding onto either of these two extremes, walking the middle path and showing gentleness towards those you disagree with is a far better prelude to Period 9 energy.

Since Yin Water is being drained by Yin and Yang Wood, it has no choice this year but to comply, and Gui represents religions and the deeper aspects of life. It is highly possible that there will be attacks on churches, temples or mosques either physically, via social backlash or even legislatively in some parts of the world. This is a reflection of 2023’s struggle between past and future, and is one of the main themes that all of us will need to address in some fashion in our own lives.

The political and financial worlds are now so intertwined that it is becoming difficult for the average person to discern who their best representatives are. Rabbits live underground in complex tunnels, away from prying eyes. It is unfortunate that the rapid growth energy combined with this secretive system (and of course the results of 2022’s Tiger coups) that big money will do much of the talking in 2023.

The natural response of course, is for average people to do the same – form networks and alliances that resist the government and economic processes that create inequity. The leaders of these change movements do put themselves at risk of physical harm though. Every time the Rabbit leaves the burrow, they become an attractive meal for predators.

As such, stories about unionisation, protests and crackdowns will appear a lot in the news and the bias of some media outlets will become painfully apparent. Poorer countries will bear the brunt of oppression, especially those with plentiful natural resources.

Strong Wood clashes and controls Earth Element, indicating an increase in tremors and underground disasters. This years Wood also has enough strength to blunt Metal which can lead to more ground vehicle accidents, but making it safer for air and water travel. It also means that far more can be done for the world’s oceans and forests than ever before.

Aesop’s quote about grasping at shadow’s is the equivalent of “not seeing the forest for the trees”. The Yin Water Rabbit appears simple and straightforward, but too much simplicity denies the great diversity of life. Look beyond the surface in 2023, think about exactly what you want from life, and spend some time examining yours and others motivations.
